Inspired Calla Lilly

Todays color challenge over at Splitcoast was Cool Carabbean, Chocolate Chip, and Garden Green. I used my new Artful Inkables Stamp from http://www.starvingartistamps.com/ made by my friend Kristin Soboloski. The flower was colored using watercolor crayons, then I painted over it with Lumiere. After it dried, I used my Sakura Quickie Glue pen to apply Art Institute glitter to the outline of the bloom and stem. The panel behind the flower is a leftover from the wedding card I made using Brilliance Platinum Planet Ink on Glossy white CS. The card is stamped using the same Floral BG in craft white ink. I finished it off with an Amuse sentiment stamp.

Wedding Card for a friend

I seriously tried to get a better picture but its a raining overcast day and this was the best I could do. The card looks tons better in real life. I used glossy CS to stamp the floral background on using Brilliance Platinum ink. I love that look. The rest of the card uses Blush. I used shimmery white cs for the scallop punched layer and for the key tag sentiment. Stickles on all the flower middles too. Heidi Swap Bling on the dress shoulders. Primas with crystal middles. Silver cording at the top.

SCS challenges

Keeping it small was the theme for this weeks sketch challenge. Not as easy as it seems LOL. I decided to combine the color challenge with the sketch challenge this week. I like the vintage violet with celery alot, not so sure I like Old Olive. I barely included the olive. Its not my favorite green. This is a very simple card and uses my Stampendous Skyscapes stamps.

Introducing the Little Lady!

Here she is, the new Paper Trey little Ladybug stamp. I used chalk inks and versafine Black along with versamark on the background to ink it up. I also used the Paper Trey white CS. I have to say it inks up really well. The card is in Marigold, Lovely Lilac, and black. MM flower brad, and stripped Lollipop ribbon. Card measures 4 1/4 x 4 1/4.

A really good mail day!

I thought it was my birthday or something! I went to my mail box and there was a key to a package drop! (I love finding the drop box key) WOO HOOO a Jody package was inside. I couldn't remember ordering anything(afterall I have all the ribbon, all the primas I could ever need). She sent me the most wonderful Rak! It was full of goodies! There is a Monogram letter to alter, some assorted ribbons, brads, prima brads, an adorable notebook with pages inside that have dice(gamblemom style), some designer paper tags, and the creme' de la creme' she sent me a beautiful card straight out of the DD gallery! I can't post it but if you want to see which one it is , its over at SCS JOdy card. Thank You Jody!

Graduation is on its way!

Its the wrong time of day for taking pics at my house but I gave it my best shot LOL. I am making some high school graduation cards for different relatives and went with a Black/white/silver theme instead of using their school colors. This was made with a Graduation clear stamp set from MSE! All images were embossed in black ep. The white CS is DCWV textured paper. The print pattern background is stamped in Brilliance Silver ink.

Penny Black Stamps

Here is a card I made the other day just trying to get my creativity going again. I have had this stamp for about a year and have only made maybe 3 cards with it. I love the image, but because of its size, I have trouble with the layout. I am starting to use pattern paper more and more with my stamping lately and think I like it. I see it all the time in the magazines so I guess its a trend.

This is the second card I made. This was for the weekly sketch challenge at SCS. Also using Penny Black stamps. Colored with markers right on the rubber. Who knew it would be so hard to line up squares so they were all straight and even? Talk about a challenge, there is no fudge factor in this layout!

Cakeabella strikes again

I need a better camera, I just can't get a good picture. The background on this is stamped using SU Paisley but you can barely see it. Anyway, another birthday bella today. I am trying to refrain from throwing out my stamps when I don't like what I am making LOL. I am having an Off day.

Trying to use this style stamp

I call this card grrrrrr!

Finally a card I can send!

*Phew* Mothers Day is almost here and I couldn't stamp anything I liked for 2 days. I finally saw this card in the SCS galleries by leslierich and I knew I could use that layout and design to make something for my mom. Thank you Leslie! She has a beautiful gallery. I have thrown away atleast 3 attempts at stamping this morning. Nothing was working. I made mistakes and had design screw-ups out the wazooo!Even the technical parts weren't working! Anyway, this is the final product. Primas, Basic Grey Stella Ruby Paper, stamps by Autumn Leaves Second Nature(acrylic set) were all used. My sentiment is inside. I decided to leave it off the front for fear I would mess up another card.

And here we have my MIL's version of the same card. I just changed the papers and colors slightly to make it a little different. I love Basic Grey paper and I feel like its about time I stop hording it and start using it. This is from the Perhaps pack. The primas are from the bra and panty packs. I used shimmer white paper on the central image instead of the watercolor paper this time.

Glitter and Quickie Glue Pens are fun!

A quickie card just for the sake of glitter and glue!I have tried numorous times to photograph this card and still can't get a picture that works. *curses camera* I Love the new Quickie Glue from Sakura, its so easy to apply glue to tiny spots for glitter or flocking. This is the double line doodle set from SU...its new for 2007 and I got it at the SU regionals.

Altering Frames

I am back at work trying to make things to sell at the Market Days in Wimberly, TX. My mom and some friends got together and leased a booth. I am trying to consign items for her to sell. She asked me to make some Western theme items so I went to work on finding cute papers. These are by Flair Designs, The Horsin' Around Collection.

This is another Floral themed frame I also made . I am thinking of changing the ribbon so its tied the other direction on the left side...it doesn't look right, I have moved it twice. I will finally decide probably the minute before I take it to my mom's. Seriously can't remember the name of the paper and I don't have any left.

I "heart" Hobby Lobby and Primas

I just love these bra and panty Primas! They are adorable. Each flower is altered in some way, either with dots or words or lace. Too Cute! The problem is...the containers are blister packs! They are not resealable in any way! Once its open, siyonara baby! So, Jody , the expert in all things crafty, recommended a craft case she had gotten from HL that has dividers that are spaced good and the primas would fit in them. Voila' it works!

I had more than can fit in one container, so, I luckily purchased a second container LOL. Why buy one when you know you will need two(eventually). I am thinking of putting the Sprites in there too. Those packs are too hard to store as well. I will use them better if they are stored where I can get at them.
