Inky Antics HoneyPop

Lately I have been trying out new things...like new stamp company's and products. I love the Honeycomb paper from Inky Antics! The little stamp sets that go with it are so cute! This one is called Cupcake Birdy. I paired it with some cute MME paper Stella Rose collection, Hazel, and just a grey solid paper from PTI. I also used MFT dies. Colored with Copic Markers.

The cupcake inside should have been a little lower but now I know how to place it in the future. Just so fun! They had some christmas trees you can use with the honeycomb paper too. I am thinking I need to get that too.

Austin Shoebox Swap 2011

I went to the annual Austin Shoebox swap last weekend and this is the card I made. If you have never been to a swap, I would like to recommend them. We had around 30 people attend this year at The Lone Star Retreat Center in Georgetown Texas. Basically you each bring supplies for everyone to make your card and you get to go home with 30 original cards that you stamp while you are there. I have met some wonderful friends through the years at these swaps. Great fun!

Stamps: Inky Antics Birthday Elephant HoneyPop set
Inks: Momento Black, Copic markers
Accessories: MFT banner die, Amuse bling, Spellbinders label die, Inky Antic Honeycomb paper

Felt like getting inky today and trying a different style. It needs work but was fun making these. More stampy than scrappy for a change.

Salute to You

This is my second card using the MFT weekly sketch. I tried to stay truer to the actual sketch this time. I forced myself to use this Basic Grey paper I bought months ago, it's called Lauderdale. It is extremely bright paper and way out of my comfort zone. I basically went through the pack and found the least crazy patterns I was willing to try. Now I like It! I hope you do too.

First Class

I just received an awesome package from my friend Jody for my birthday. I got new goodies from MFT! Started stamping right away I was just so excited! I think this one is for my grandmother for her birthday next month.
Stamps: MFT First Class Friend
Paper: MME Lost & Found Blush, PTI white and cocoa.
Inks: SU kraft Chocolate chip, SU Rose Red

This is probably the cutest PI ever LOL. Not really , but she is darn cute! I freckled her nose with a SU cocoa marker. MFT rosette die was giving me trouble staying stuck down but I think I finally got it secured with a sticky large glue dot. Also used the MFT well worn words dies. October Afternoon Fly a Kite papers. Colored with copic markers.

For my Daddy

Happy birthday daddy! MFT sketch 32. Papers from Basic Grey Oxford collection. Just the Ticket stamp and die set from MFT. Other die from MFT too. BTW, nearly impossible to cut that die without tearing it, it's just so delicate. Luckily my dad is not a stamper and won't notice the repairs.

A special Birthday

I am a little late with my August cards but I m trying to catch up now. I lost my mojo for a couple weeks and had trouble finding it again. Using an ols sketch helps. Papers from MME , MFT dies, Prima embellishment

LIl' One-sie shaped card

Lookie! I figured out how to use my Cricut to make a shaped card finally! It only took me 2 hours LOL. I downloaded the template from My Time, Made Easy-Lauren Meader's store. I also used a embossing plate from Provocraft in my cuttlebug. I used lots of tools to make these, but I like how they turned out.

Father's day round up

This is the first one I made using MFT First Place Award set and dies. Paper is from October Afternoon.

This second card is using this weeks sketch challenge from MFT. The dies are MFT but the stamped sentiments are from Northwoods stamps(Archivers). All the papers are Bo Bunny. Trying to be all *Tim Holtz-like* The sentiment is embossed in chocolate twinkle by Judikins. Inside sentiment is MFT Triple scoop about Life's Journeys. I've got one more coming but its broken my spirit and I am not sure I will ever finish it LOL.

I got issues LOL

I just can't let a notepad stay as is. I gotta alter it somehow. SU ds papers from a long time ago...no name, can't remember. New MFT die and stamps Pretty Pocket. You flip the lid up and inside is a 8x6 legal pad. I use this size for everything from grocery lists to notes for school.

Happy easter

Here is a little gift card box I made for my son for easter. Now that he is 15 and too old for a basket, I wanted to give him something he would like. Sonic and iTunes. I discovered I have no real easter stamp sets, hmmm, how did that happen? I found this old SU stamp from some old set that was mixed in with my A muse stuff. The gift box was made from a digital download from MFT and my Cricut Expressions. I also found out I need solid colored 12x12 papers. I guess I needed an excuse to go shopping LOL. Don't look too close, it was only after I took the pictures and posted them that I saw I had colored outside the lines. Grrr. I know my son won't mind, but it will bother me forever!

Needed to make a second card from this sketch, I liked it so much. I can't get enough of these My Minds Eye papers! I just love them! Broke out the felt for added texture. Lots of brads too. Beautiful

I am in love with the new dies from MFT! Big Ass Flower

dimensional view
Way back in October of 2010, I was lucky enough to attend a card swap at Lonestar Retreat Center with lots of talented stampers all from Splitcoaststampers. One of the very talented ladies swap card was made using this Huge flower from Hero Arts. I just had to have my own huge flower. I asked her what the stamp was called and she said, "I just call it the big ass flower stamp". I laughed and it stuck in my head and now I call it the big ass flower stamp. I found my very own big ass stamp at Achivers, and now they have several styles of big ass flowers.

I am on a roll. I love A'la Modes! They are fun and cheerful. The second photo shows that I used a glaze pen over the top of the icing to give it a shine. Just a little something I threw together for a friend.

MFT sketch 8

This one is taken under flourescent lighting in my kitchen
This one is taken outside in natural light but under a covered deck.
Kitchen lighting, inside the card.

I have a light box, I swear I do. It only works if the lights aren't burned out though LOL. I plan to replace those bulbs just as soon as I can figure out how to get the lights open and find the bulbs. Apparently you need either super human strength or there is a trick to opening them. So far I haven't been successful. Normally I go outside on my deck in natural sunlight and the pictures look pretty good. It is raining this morning though so that was out. This paper does have a yellow hue to it though, so its not really that far off. Anyway, woohoo, stamped 2 weeks in a row!
Paper: Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934, Chocolate, Kraft
Ink: SU chocolate craft ink
Stamps: MFT framed greetings
Accessories: MFT Die-namics dies- Layered labels, Rolled roses, Notebook edge, Prima flower and slick swirls clear rhinestones

MFT sketch Challenge

I stamped again...hooray! I thought I broke my stamp ability. Actually there is more cutting and pasting than actual stamping so maybe I should just say I made a card, hooray. Anyway, I have been wanting to get back to it and MFT sketch challenges over at splitcoaststampers is the easiest way to get back into it. My Minds eye paper, True Blue is so cute! I love it! The rosette and star dies are from MFT. The sentiments are from MFT A'La Modes. It took me over an hour to make this card and it isn't even a hard one LOL. Gotta practice more.
