Been Busy

I have been super busy this week, and it isn't letting up anytime soon. I stamped for about 2 hours today working on some gift enclosure cards for my friends store. They are meant to be used like those florest cards, just blanks but with a picture on them. I made 100 so my shoulders hurt. If my camera had batteries I would show you. Maybe tomorrow.

Monday Challenge

I hate my camera.........grrrrr I took no less than 10 pictures of this card and it still came out blurry. The sky is very cloudy from all the rain today and I tried inside and outside, with and without the flash, I tried zooming and I tried the closeup functions. I can't do it. *stupid camera* Anyways, this challenge involved using retiring sets and inks and stuff. This is the Living Large set and the Floral background stamp. I also used stickles and the matching stitched ribbons, the designer punch and a circle punch. I will miss violet but hey, I will probably still use it anyway.

Rolodex swap

This is what I have been working on for the past 2 days. I am participating in a rolodex swap with some friends over at SCS that I chat with. I stamped the plain rolodex cards with the paisly background stamp in Cool Carabbean ink. I cut 3/4" strips of Basic Grey Pheobe paper and added skinny stitched ribbon strips. Punched the Pretty in Pink scallop squares, doodled the edges with my white Signo gel pen and my info is printed off the computer in the center. The printing was done before I punched them out so I could place it properly. Then I added the primas and the white brads. I think they are kind of cute and can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with.

Hibiscus in watercolor crayons

I am feeling very frustrated over an unrelated incident to stamping so I decided to break out the Watercolor Crayons and practice. I reorganized the utility room and it didn't help so stamping wins again. This is a new stamp from Kristin Soboloski a friend and new stamp designer over at Starving Art Stamps . The textured layered cardstock is from DCWV and the actual card is Garden Green from SU. I used a scrap of Fabriono watercolor paper for the central image. I debated where to put ribbon and decided to skip it. I used a tiny bit of glitter on the flower centers. I am still mad at myself for making a stupid mistake but I do feel slightly better after focusing on something other than my mistake.

Number 2 for my hubby from the kids

Okay, attempt number two. This one is a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" gift card to go with his new laptop table that the kids and I got him.. Its very simple made from Basic Grey Scarlet Letter paper.

Father's Day

ok I made one.........its not great I am the first to admit it. I wanted to use my new glitter(I have a new supply), I wanted to use my new rubber too. I had unopened paper, what's a girl to do? Put it all together of course , no matter how stupid it turns out. Don't feel sorry for me, atleast there is ink on paper and I am getting back around to stamping. My dad is blind anyways so he will tell me it looks great!

Getting back my missing mojo

I seem to have misplaced my stamping mojo. Its been missing for days and I have no ideas floating around in my head, no bursts of enthusiasm, no direction to the stamp room. Nada, zilch, nothing. I have some deadlines and I still have no ideas. I guess I am in a slump. I had several attempts that went badly so I walked out and never went back. Now I have not made any Fathers day cards, not for my dad, my FIL nor my husband and I came close to going to the Hallmark store yesterday. Yikes!!!Is there a stamping mojo pill I could take?

Lake LBJ

This is where we went over the past weekend. Its a place called Longhorn Resorts on Lake LBJ in Kingsland, Texas. There were 25 of us all together and we rented out 4 cabins and a huge House. Luckily the place had a pool because it was where we spent about 80% of our time. The lake was very murky from recent hard rains and no one wanted to get in it. The boat wouldn't run (story of our life) so there was very little fishing and no skiing. We had a great time hanging out all together, the kids played and played and played until they were ready to drop dead. There was horse-shoe pitchin', and a rousing game of croquet, and even some basketball games. We played a game called Catch Phrase (think Hot potato with an electronic toy giving clues others try to guess) which I excelled at. We stayed up late listening to my BIL play guitar and sing. It was bedlam around meal time and felt like christmas with all of us crammed into one house most of the time. We had a great time and already talked about what we would do for next summer. I love being married into a family that is huge and there is so much love between them all. My hubby has 5 brothers and a sister, they are all married and all have children. Its always so much fun when we get together. The kids had a talent show one night and they were so fun to watch. The second night we had joke telling and all around silliness. Tony and my son Blake did a ventriloquist act together that had us in stitches. I had so much fun and now I am exhausted and a little horse from talking so loud and so much. Hopefully I can stamp this week. I have new rubber on its way from Amuse so I might get busy today if it gets here soon.

Off again!

I know, I know, I just got home. We have a family weekend get together for my hubby's side of the family starting today and we are heading to Lake LBJ in the Texas Hill country just outside of Marble Falls. We took over a whole resort. There are 31 in my husbands immediate family with his brothers and sister and all the spouses and kids. Unfortunately we all won't make it this time, we will be a family of five short, and possibly his parents may have backed out due to the difficulty of transporting his mom and all her equipement. But there will still be 20 or more of us going. My kids each have cousins to play with, and they have so much fun playing together, its great to watch. There will be lots of swimming and fishing, we may rent a jet ski or a boat. Good times ahead for the weekend. I plan to read a book and float in my float/chair in the pool or lake. We have a nice little cabin to live in and it looks like its very quaint. We have divided the meals so we don't have to cook the whole time. I am in charge of Sunday breakfast...Pancakes, bacon/ sausage, and pastries. Tonight we are all bringing something to throw on the grill and a side dish. Its all about the food you know! Hopefully I will have some pictures to show you when I get back. It dawned on me that I never took pictures in New Orleans last week(duh I do it everytime). I think because we go visit New Orleans once a year I just never treat the trip like a vacation, I know we will go back as long as my best friend lives there. Anyway, next week will be better and I can get back into my routine again.

"Honey, I'm home"

We made it home last night and hopefully everything will be back to normal again tomorrow. No time to stamp this week but next week should be better. My friend has a little gift store and asked me to make her some card packs to sell so I plan to take her up on the offer. She showed me some that she was selling and I know I could do better than what she showed me. LOL. I would like to try anyway. That means I need to come up with some designs. I need a Fluer dis li stamp though because that is her store theme "french" is actually the theme so I need to shop for rubber. Big times ahead!
