Tomorrow is a special day for me..........I will be 39 for the 4Th time. I received some very nice surprises in the mail today. From my friend Jody, a notepad with a matching pen, a card, and some embellishments. Thank you Jody! From my friend Tracy, I received the cutest package, I forgot to take a picture before I destroyed it trying to open it. She took a 2 liter coke bottle and stuffed it full of adorable shredded paper and hid the gifts inside. Very ingenious! Inside was a super cute watch, a bunch of glitters, and some puffy glitter glue, and some brads. Thanks Tracy...you rock! And then last but not least I received a nice pocket card from an anonymous RAKer. It wasn't signed and had no return address so I don't know who to thank. Thank you for making my birthday special.

Deadbeat Designs
New rubber that I couldn't pass up while shopping today. I can't wait to use these new stamps from Deadbeat Designs. I have several other stamps by this company, barbwire and Happy Trails so I figured if I am going all out country I would need these. Today I had to go to the dentist and I was supposed to get my hair done but my hairdresser had to cancel at the last minute. I had extra time on my hands and decided to shop at a stamp store I rarily get a chance to go to. The name of the store is Scraftbooks Unlimited and she has a bunch of cool stamps and inks and stuff I love in there. She is in the process of moving to a smaller space next door to her old place so it was difficult to shop with everything in disaray but I managed just fine. Now I am going to try to stamp something.

A RAK for a friend
I sent this RAK to a friend today to return the RAK that she recently sent me. We are in a RAK cycle that we can't seem to break LOL. She sends me things, so then I send her something to thank her for sending me something, and then she sends me something for sending her something....you see where this is going? It is a smallish altered clipboard painted with MM Blue Paint, and the paper is by SU called LeJardin. I also added a touch of stamping to it using Baroque Motiffs. A few eyelets, some stitched ribbon and a cork monogragm. Sponged the edges with River Rock ink too. I hope she likes it. If she is reading this, (pretend you haven't seen it yet). Have a good Day!

Blushing Birthday
Playing with paper and ink today. Blush and kraft paper, Colorbox pigment ink in Chiffon White, Vanilla craft ink and EnFrancais BG stamp, and the Garden Silouettes set. A little organdy polka dot ribbon. Sponged edges and a very soft feminine card is born. Oh and best of all the maching eyelets from Heidi Alsop (pinkhedgehog...).

PaperTrey color challenge
I finally finished this card. I started it last week for the color challenge on SCS but never finished it. I didn't like it. I struggle with these sets for some reason, yet I like them and keep buying them LOL. The colors are Guava, and soft sky. I used shimmer paper for the main image. The label is by Heidi Swapp Ghost Shapes. I used Crystal Effects and glitter over the top of the sentiment, mini brads to attach. Its okay, nothing fancy or anything.

I am a photo lifter LOL
I recently sent these three cards to Texasjodylynn for various reasons and never took pictures of them first! I saw she posted them on her blog so I right clicked and saved them for myself LOL. Thus I am a photo lifter. Actually, The middle card was for her birthday and the picture underneath it is a binder that I made for her to use as a card holder for her business. It has sleeves in it for holding A2 sized cards. She said she needed one for her Stampin Up cards and I remembered it. The top card was a thank you to her for sending me the True Friend set before it was available to order. I told her I couldn't wait and she found a way to get me one as a very nice gift! Love you Jody! Since I was busy working on secret projects for my upcoming trip to Salt Lake City, I haven't had anything to post. Hopefully I will have something new soon.

Fabulous Notepad
Just a little notepad altering to pass the time today. I received my replacement scallop punch from SU this week and I have been wanting to make a covered notepad using this cute designer paper (outlaw). I wish I had that Wild West alphabet today but since I don't I substituted the Fabulous sentiment. I guess notepads can be fabulous in my mind. LOL. Hope you like it.

Bronc Buster
My first Bronc Buster card. I tried to meet the color/ sketch challenges from SCS for this one. Lately I don't have an original sketch layoutof my own. I pierced for a change too. I still need practice with piercing. It comes natural to some people but for me its hard to do. I also got a chance to use my Deadbeat Design stamps that I bought while in El Paso, the barbwire and Happy Trails.

New rubber
I love the new boho sets this year! I have no idea why, but when I opened this set (True Friend) it seemed like it needed to be in a Americana theme. Not what I would normally like. Weird but I liked it non the less. I have always liked using white ink on craft paper. I need to get out the pattern paper and make some more using this set. Its so cute and I just love it! It kind of reminds me of the SU paisley background stamp. If you look at the designs on the stamp they seem similar. I will probabaly try it with the paisley now.

Sugar
For my son Blake............he wanted me to take a picture of Sugar in the new photobox under the lights. LOL. Poor Sugar! He puts up with us all the time. He is actually shedding so bad that I can't stand it. He didn't last long in the photo box so this was a quick picture. He moved too much to get a good one and his fur was all over the place. Maybe I will try again sometime later.
Honey, I'm home!
I am back from 4 fabulous days in Las Vegas. I came home to a messy house and tons of travel laundry and other work. I also came home to find a fabulous RAK from a dear friend that I will make something with very soon. Thank you! I also got mysel one of those nifty photo light boxes that are all the rage (thanks to my friend Dorinda finding it on ebay). I will figure it all out soon and post some photos. It will take me a few days to catch up. My kids heard that the class schedules for the up coming school year were mailed out and DD couldn't wait to get home and find out if she had classes with her friends. Unfortunately hers was not in the mail when we got home. DS has his and he has no classes with his friends so far. Oh well. Hopefully DD will get her schedule by tomorrow and all will be well with her again.

Another Birthday card
I realized I needed a birthday card for my SIL for the 11th so I had to force myself to stamp again. I broke a Jody rule and stamped a sentiment directly over other colors......sorry Jody. This is watercolored using re-inkers and an aquapainter. The main image is by Joyce Meyer from jaminstamps.com. I am a little fuzzy this morning from the muscle relaxer I took for my back so please don't hold me responsible for any mistakes LOL. We leave tonight for SA, drop off the kids at my moms and then tomorrow we head out to Vegas. Wish me good luck.
* PS the colors were chosen for the color challenge on scs

I lied LOL
Taking a break
Dear blog readers. Sorry for the lack of postings. My back went out on me saturday morning and I have been stuck in a chair or bed ever since. I am getting a little better today but we leave for Las Vegas on Wednesday night and I have to be healed by then. I am icing and resting and taking ani-inflammarory drugs. There really is nothing else I can do. I am determined to get over this. Be back soon. I have new rubber coming today from SU and I am really sad I can't sit and stamp.
